How to reduce and remove stretch marks

Stretch marks are an evil that many women encounter. Although they often appear after childbirth, they can appear at any age and in any woman. So is it possible to make them disappear? or at least mitigate them? The answer to the first question is unfortunately no. We can assimilate stretch marks to scars, which makes their disappearance difficult or even impossible. However, there are several ways to mitigate them.

Reduce your stretch marks

There are two types of stretch mark treatment: so-called light treatment and heavier treatment.

Light treatments

These treatments consist in applying certain creams (Tretinoin or Isotretinïne), containing vitamin A acid, on your stretch marks. Be careful not to apply too much cream as it is very irritating. Misuse of these creams does not increase their effectiveness. They are to be used in addition to a means of contraception.

Heavy treatments

There are 3 types of heavy treatments:

- The first is the peel. The peel consists of removing the different layers of the skin. There are different types of peels (superficial, medium and deep). At the present time, chemical substances are most often used to effect this. I advise you to make an appointment with your dermatologist to see if a type of peel is suitable for you.

- The second is microdermabrasion. This technique consists of projecting aluminum crystals on the stretch marks. This operation is done under local anesthesia.

- The third is laser treatment. This treatment must be carried out by a professional.

In all cases, it is advisable to consult your dermatologist before any treatment.
