There is a simple way to take your pulse. To do this, follow the steps below:
- Start by placing your left hand on a table, palm facing up.
- Place 3 fingers of your right hand on your left forearm, at the limit of the wrist, in the sort of gutter.
- You just have to press lightly on your wrist to feel your pulse. You can count the number of beats per minute.
In adults, at rest and in good health, the pulse is between 50 (for a trained athlete) and 80 per minute. During exercise the theoretical heart rate is 220 minus the person's age.
