How to write the letters of a word short form / abbreviation at the top on a keyboard

You want to write the abbreviations with small letters at the top as in " Doctor " -> " D^{r "}  or the abbreviation of first with the "st" at the top -> 1^st ? To do so, you will need to use the following combination:

In Microsoft tools (Word, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.):

• The easiest way is to select the letters to put in superscript and then use the following keyboard shortcut :
  Ctrl + Shift + = (ie the "+ =" key to the left of the Return key) .
  • Example: To write first in this way -> 1^st
    • We write 1st , select "st" and do the combination Ctrl + Shift + = -> 1^st

• Same method as in Microsoft tools but with a different combination: Select the number to put in superscript or in power then perform the key combination:
  Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Example: to write the abbreviation of first in this way -> 1^st
