How to start a car with battery cables

Your car won't start anymore because your battery is dead, but you have on hand another car with a good battery and battery jumper cables on hand, follow this tutorial to get by:

1. Leave the car in good condition switched on throughout the operation.


This will prevent the battery from being discharged as well.

2. Connect the red cable to the positive terminal (+) of the battery in good condition, then the other end of the cable to the positive terminal (+) of the battery to be started.


3. Connect the black cable to the negative (-) terminal of the good battery, then the other end of the cable to the negative (-) terminal of the battery to be started.


4. Let run for 1 minute.


This is so that the dead battery fills up sufficiently to undergo the discharge which will follow.

5. Start the engine of the car to be started.


If the car does not start, wait and let the engine run a little longer.

6. Disconnect the black cable from the car you just started and then the end located on the tow car. Do the same with the red cable.
